Hi Keidi,
We spent ours in a local restaurant in Jimena de la Frontera. However I think the crisis (and the weather) was really reflected in the very poor turn out. Only 4 tables!! I felt very sorry for the owners (one of whom dissapeared out the door with a bottle of cava at 10 to midnight!) as they were quieter than a regular weekend night. The price was a bit steep but 2 years ago it was full to the brim. A real shame.

As for the grapes, ours were wrapped in blue sellophane, the colour of which had since rubbed off onto the grapes putting us off! I think I managed 3 grapes before I decided I couldn't crunch the pips. My friend, the most supersticious of our group, was the only one who managed them all. Well done her, hope she has good luck this year! But then again, so do I!

I must be getting old too, the idea of creating your own Mosquito reppelent sounds interesting :) Maybe you could hold a competition to test the most effective.

Wouldn't the heavy use of garlic make it a human repellant as well?

Feel free to share a few excerpts in The Expat Directory and link back to your site for sales. I think it would generate fair interest and also help us get things going in our new forums. :)

Best of luck with your book and the magazine, I hope they prove fruitful for you.

Hi Keidi, I am reading your book at the moment and it really lights up the cold, dark evenings here in the UK. I lived in reserva de marbella a few years ago and last summer I did an internship at English A5 magazine Barcelona Connect. I'm now back in the UK for the final year of my Journalism degree and it is truly inspiring to read your story. It just shows that everything is possible! Congrats on your success, and thanks for making me looking forward to that scary thing called THE FUTURE:). xoxo

Hiya, it is great fun. Your kids would love it, but you do have to drive your car up the hill and stop off and get out at the cages along the way. Yeah most of the animals do look fairly happy actually as they have quite a lot of room. For example the bears, lions and wolves have a lot of space, whereas the smaller ones do tend to be in small cages. I felt quite sorry for the albino tiger as that was stuck in a tiny space. So really it varies quite a bit. Let me know if you go. Anyone can stay the night if you book accomodation there - there are wooden cabins and also cortijos. Have a nice time!

Sounds fun How kid friendly is it though? Mine are 2 & 3, do you think they would like it and can they stay the night too? And do the animals look happy? When you say cages - are they big enclosures? Sorry for all the questions!
Sounds like a good day out!
